Bhutto was no saint but back when she was elected, years and years ago, it was a big deal and it still is. Not since has a woman been elected to a high post in an Islamic country. She wasn't perfect but she did give the Pakistani people some hope. I have a friend whom I met probably 9-10 years ago from Pakistan. He lived there during her tenure and said the country flourished and mostly people were pretty happy with her in government. This is sad and tragic.

Sometimes you find you don't want to do something and everyone around you keeps hinting at it, pushing, telling you this is the thing you should do. You think about it, you leave it alone. Then it comes up again. This is how this blog started. My very good friend and my husband both came to the conclusion that I should post my daily musings, mostly filled with links, up on a blog site and that they, as well as others will enrich their lives from my musings. My recycled links from other people's cleverness. I doubt this. But I will try.

My husband graciously started this blog for me and went through how to use it. It is simple but cutting and pasting into an email is too. I'll see how this goes. I'm a pretty private person (though I may be outwardly the opposite don't believe everything you see) and even writing this is difficult so if it's difficult, I'm challenging my comfort zone, right? At least that's what they tell you.
